San Martín de San Juan

Club Atlético San Martín is a football club from San Juan in the west of Argentina. The club, founded in 1907 is set in the 2011/12 season in the Primera División.

History

The so far only attend the first Argentine league San Martín succeeded in 1970, but as Table had the club immediately the transition into the second division compete. After well over 30 years only succeeded in the season 2006/2007 again to return to the first division. To the second promotion place to San Martín was 3:2 nV prevail against the Mitaufsteiger CA Huracán. The only goal came in the eighth minute of stoppage time. Soon, however, had to go back San Martín. In the season 2010/11 they finished third in the Primera B Nacional and was able to return gained relegation matches against Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata ascend to the highest league in Argentine Football.

Stadium

CA San Martín plays at the Estadio del Bicentenario in San Juan. The stadium can accommodate 25,000 spectators and was opened in 2011. Here also games of the Copa America 2011 will be held from whose occasion, the sports facility was built.
