San Martín Region

The San Martín Region (Spanish: Región San Martín, San Martín Quechua suyu ) is a location in the Andes region in northeastern Peru. The region is bordered to the north by the Loreto and Amazonas regions on the south, Huánuco and on the west by La Libertad.

Tourism

In the province of Mariscal Cáceres in the west of the San Martín region of the Río Abiseo National Park, the UNESCO declared 1990 World Cultural and Natural World Heritage Site located. The National Park has a diverse and rich flora and fauna, including some endangered species. In addition, the National Park is home to 36 pre-Columbian sites, the largest and most archaeologically significant is Gran Pajatén.
