San Pedro (Beni)

San Pedro Nuevo (formerly San Pedro ) is a town in the Beni Department in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location

San Pedro Neuvo is the second largest city of the county ( bolivian: Municipio) San Javier in the province of Cercado. The city lies at an altitude of 151 m on the right bank of the Río Mamoré, which drains to the Río Iténez out, and is about seven kilometers away from the river.

Geography

San Pedro Nuevo is located in the Bolivian lowlands in the Moxos level, with more than 100,000 km ², one of the largest wetlands in the world. The dominant vegetation type in the region of San Pedro is the tropical savannah.

San Pedro Nuevo is located 58 km north of Trinidad, the capital of the department.
