Sandra van Nieuwland

Sandra van Nieuwland ( born February 16, 1977 in Delft) is a Dutch pop singer. In 2012 she participated in the third season of The Voice of Holland.

Life

In the summer of 2012, Van Nieuwland applied to the Dutch version of The Voice. In the blind auditions, she was chosen by all four coaches and decided to Trijntje Oosterhuis group. As the only participant brought their contribution, the Usher song More, then also in the Dutch charts. In the Dutch Top 40, it rose to number 13 and climbed until 3rd place in the top 100, they immediately rose to number one. During the first live show she got a platinum award presented, which until then no one had yet been reached at a talent show. In the semi-finals of The Voice of Holland on 7 December, they had to play the last remaining competitor from their group Leona Philippo. Sandra van Nieuwland was eliminated by audience vote and Philippo later won the competition. Philippos winning song Could You Be Loved was the only song from the show, which was also placed in the top 40 out of the Nieuwland songs.

Even in 2012 the album And More appeared with the five show hits and six other recordings. The album debuted at No. 1 at the end and stayed there for five weeks.

Private life

Van Nieuwland is divorced and the mother of three sons.
