Sandro Cois

Sandro Cois ( born June 9, 1972 in Fossano (CN), Italy ) is a retired Italian footballer.

Career

In the club

Sandro Cois began his career in the youth department of Torino Calcio. In the 1990/91 season he was at Toro his Serie A debut and won with the trained troops of Emiliano Mondonico the Mitropa Cup. In the UEFA Cup, the Turin club Ajax Amsterdam was beaten only extremely scarce. 1992/93 was followed by winning the Coppa Italia.

After several strong years in Torino Calcio midfielder moved in 1994 to Fiorentina where he spent most of his career and 1995 /96 and 2000/01 Coppa Italia won again.

In 2002, Sandro Cois moved to Sampdoria in Serie B, the following January he went to Piacenza Calcio, where he finished in the summer of 2003 at the age of only 31 years due to an injury his active career.

In the National Team

Sandro Cois debuted on 28 January 1998 in a 3-0 win over Slovakia under Cesare Maldini in the Italian national team. In the same year he was in Maldini's squad for the World Cup in France, where he indeed was not used, but pushed forward with the Azzurri to the quarterfinals, where the hosts and eventual champions France was defeated with 3:4 after penalty shoot-out.

The last of his three caps for Italy midfielder completed on 10 February 1999 in a 0-0 draw against Norway.
