1991–92 UEFA Cup
The UEFA Cup 1991/92 was the 21st edition of the competition and was won by Ajax Amsterdam in the final against Torino Calcio by more away goals scored. The first leg in Turin went from 2:2. In the return match Ajax needed only a 0-0 draw in Amsterdam. Ajax had this season under coach Louis van Gaal is one of the youngest teams in the Cup competition. UEFA allowed the last time the participation of representatives from the field of NOFV, as in the 1990/91 season, despite the German reunification in 1990, still a separate Championship was held. These were the FC Rot -Weiss Erfurt and Halle FC.
