1983–84 UEFA Cup
The UEFA Cup 1983/84 was the 13th edition of the competition organized by UEFA. In the finals, the English representative Tottenham Hotspur continued after two finals through against the Belgian representative RSC Anderlecht and won the trophy for the second time.
Mode
The competition was held in six rounds, in home and away matches. In Torgleichheit initially decided the number of away goals scored, then an extension and eventually the penalty shootout.

In 1997, the club tip RSC Anderlecht admitted that the referee was bribed ahead of the return game with £ 27,000. In this game, one goal for Nottingham was not given and Anderlecht were awarded a controversial penalty.
