Sandu District
Sandu is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative divisions - the West African nation of Gambia. It is one of four districts in the Upper River Region.
According to a calculation by 2013 there live about 21 346 inhabitants, the result of the last published census of 2003 was 18 321.

Population
According to a survey of 1993 ( former census ), the largest population group, the Mandinka with a share of around four -tenths, followed by the Serahule and the Fula. The distribution in detail: 37.3 % Mandinka, Fula 27.6%, 0.1% Wolof, Jola 0.1 %, 34.2% Serahule, 0 % Serer, Aku 0%, 0.1% Manjago, 0, 2% Bambara and 0.4% other ethnicities.
