Wuli District

Wuli is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative divisions - the West African nation of Gambia. It is one of four districts in the Upper River Region.

According to a calculation by 2013 there live about 40 683 inhabitants, the result of the last published census of 2003 was 35 856.

The name is derived from Wuli, a former small kingdom.

Population

According to a survey of 1993 ( former census ), the largest population group, the Mandinka with a share of about six -tenths, followed by the Serahule and the Fula. The distribution in detail: 62.7 % Mandinka, Fula 17.3%, 0.1% Wolof, Jola 0.1 %, 19.4% Serahule, 0 % Serer, Aku 0%, 0 % Manjago, 0.1 Bambara % and 0.3 % other ethnicities.
