San Pancrazio (also Saint Pancras ) is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Kirchdorf an der Krems in Traun quarter with 337 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Geography

St. Pancras is located at 531 m altitude in Traun quarter. The expansion is 9.7 kilometers from north to south and from west to east 8.7 km. The total area is 47.1 km ². 70.3 % of the area is forested and 8.5 % of the land used for agriculture. Pancrazio is part of the tourism Pyhrn-Priel region.

Coat of arms

Blazon: From red and green divided by a blue, silver bordierten, diagonally left wave beams, accompanied by the figure at the top of a silver sword, down from a silver pine cones. The municipality colors are blue, white and red.

The helical flow points to the municipal area of ​​the southeast to the northwest crossing Teichl. The hl. History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. Culture and sights

Parish Church of St.. Pankratius: The parish church, built in 1462 has a Baroque interior. The high altarpiece, the beheading of St.. Pankratius dar. both sides of the nave are net rip domed chapel extensions. The side altars show paintings by Bartolomeo Altomonte from 1763.

Wilderermuseum St. Pancras: The designed according to the ideas of cultural theorist Roland Girtler exhibition shows the historical and social background of poaching. Known poachers fates and the legendary Battle of Molln poachers are also documented.

National Park Kalkalpenradweg

The National Park Kalkalpenradweg (R31 ) has its starting point in the center of San Pancrazio. The trail takes you through the valley of Teichl after Roßleithen and continue to Windischgarsten. After a drive through the Hengstpass the cycle path ends after 45 km at the inlet to the rear mountain bike trail at Unterlaussa.
