Santa Rosa, La Pampa

Santa Rosa de Toay (including Santa Rosa del Toay, but usually only called Santa Rosa ) is the capital of the province of La Pampa in the center of Argentina. It has 102 610 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2005) and is situated in the Pampa level.

The city was founded in 1892 by Tomás Mason. Only in the second half of the 20th century it became a relatively important agro-industrial center, but it is still one of the smallest provincial towns of Argentina, according to Rawson, Ushuaia and Viedma. Still lives a little more than a quarter of the province 's population here.
