Sarah Boyack

Sarah Boyack ( born May 16, 1961 in Glasgow ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labour Party. In the Scottish Parliament elections in 1999, 2003 and 2007, she won as a direct candidate 's mandate in the constituency Edinburgh Central. In the parliamentary elections in 2011, they defeated their opponents Marco Biagi of the Scottish National Party (SNP ), but moved as a list candidate for the constituency Lothian in Parliament.

Life

Boyack visited one of the first female students the Royal High School in Edinburgh. She completed a degree in Modern History and Politics at the University of Glasgow, where she graduated as a master. She then enrolled at the Heriot -Watt University in Edinburgh and gained a diploma in urban and regional planning. In the following years she worked in the field of spatial planning and starting in 1992 as a lecturer at Heriot -Watt University and Edinburgh College of Art

Between 1999 and 2001 Sarah Boyack took up the post of Minister for the Environment, Transport and Planning. During this time, she sat by the free bus transportation for the elderly and disabled and set the basis for the establishment of national parks. In 2007, she was employed as a Secretary of State for Environment and Development.
