Sarah Parish

Sarah Parish ( born June 7, 1968 in Yeovil, Somerset ) is a British actress.

Life and achievements

Sarah Parish was born in Yeovil English as the daughter of Bill and Thelma Parish. She has a sister named Julie, and a brother, musician John Parish.

Parish attended the local Preston School. Later she studied at the London Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. She made her debut in the television series Peak Practice, in which she played from 1997 to 1999. In the thriller Sirens of Darkness ( 2002) she became one of the major roles in the thriller Unconditional Love (2003) and in the film drama Reversals (2003 ) she was seen in each one of the main roles.

From 2002 to 2005 Parish appeared in the television series Cutting It in one of the lead roles. For this role she was nominated for the 2003 British National Television Award. In the comedy The Wedding Date (2005) she appeared alongside Dermot Mulroney, in the comedy needs love The Holiday ( 2006) she played alongside Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jew Law and Jack Black. In the six-part BBC drama Blackpool ( 2004) and in the TV movie Recovery (2007) she played the female lead role opposite David Tennant. Another time she was with Tennant in the Doctor Who Christmas Special The Runaway Bride in front of the camera, where she played the alien Racnoss.

Together with fellow actress Dervla Kirwan Parish founded the production company Aphra Productions. Since 2007 Parish is married to her fellow actor James Murray and lives with him in Hampshire. In June 2008 Parish gave birth to her first daughter, who died due to a serious heart condition in January 2009. In November 2009 came their second daughter into the world.
