History
The Sault Ste. Marie Thunderbirds were founded in 1959 as a franchise of the inaugural Eastern Professional Hockey League. Your best season was the 1960/61 season, in which they took 73 points below the long-time NHL player Billy Reay and reached the third place in the EPHL.
Following the 1961/62 season, in which the Thunderbirds had occupied with the also long-time NHL player Jack Stewart as coach the sixth and thus, in the course of EPHL, was the team to Syracuse, New York, relocated and changed its name to Syracuse Braves.
