Scarperia

Scarperia is a district of the municipality Scarperia e San Piero with 7795 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Province of Florence in the Italian region of Tuscany. The place belongs to the administrative community Comunità Montana Mugello.

Geography

Scarperia located in Mugello, 30 km north of Florence. Districts ( frazioni ) are Sant'Agata Mugello, Ponzalla and Marcoiano.

The nearby towns are Barberino di Mugello, Borgo San Lorenzo, Firenzuola and San Piero a Sieve.

On 1 January 2014 merged with the neighboring Scarperia San Piero a Sieve the new community Scarperia e San Pietro.
