Scenic Rim Region

Geography
The region is located in the southeast corner of the state on the border with New South Wales about 55 km south of the capital Brisbane.
Largest city and administrative headquarters of the LGA is Beaudesert with about 6000 inhabitants. History
Today's Scenic Rim Region was founded in 2008 from the Boonah Shire and parts of Beaudesert Shire and Ipswich City.
Management
The Scenic Rim Regional Council has seven members. Six Councillor elected by the residents of the six divisions ( constituencies ). The Council President and Mayor ( Mayor ) is also elected by all residents of the region.
