The shield block is a 1,613 m high mountain in Mangfallgebirge in Bavaria. The summit can be reached in an easy hike of Wildbad Kreuth on the Geißalm and Königsalm. If safety requires, however, the wire rope secured route via the Wolf's Glen. To the east of the shield block is close to the Blue Mountains. The Cavalier House on the Königsalm was built in 1818 by King Maximilian I of Bavaria. The king is said to have frequently visited the pasture. The standing next Holzblockbau from 1723 is the largest historic mountain lodge in the district of Landshut.
