Scott Walker (ice hockey)

Scott Walker (born 19 July 1973 in Cambridge, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach who has played during his active career, among other things for the Vancouver Canucks, Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals in the National Hockey League.

Career

Scott Walker began his career in 1991 with the Owen Sound Platers in the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League. After he was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL Entry Draft in 1993 in the fifth round at position 124, he played the next two years mainly in the sub-prime AHL farm team for the Canucks.

In the 1995/96 season he was the first time in the long run to the NHL squad from Vancouver. He showed there mainly to be physically tough game, he could after his move to the Nashville Predators, who had selected him in the NHL Expansion Draft 1999 also his skills as a solid scorer proof. He had 2003/ 04, when he came to 67 points with 25 goals and 42 Assists His best season.

On 23 December 2010 Walker was appointed head coach of the Guelph Storm in the Ontario Hockey League.
