Seán Keane (fiddler)

Seán Keane ( born July 12, 1946 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish fiddle player. Keane grew up in a typical Dublin family of musicians. Both parents played the violin and he started learning the instrument since his early childhood; at the Dublin School of Music, he received classical lessons. Over the years, he was more interested in traditional Irish music and won, among others, the All-Ireland Championship.

As a 16 - year-old he played with his brother James in the Castle Ceili Band, where Seán Ó Riada discovered him, brought him a year later in his band Ceoltoiri Chuallan.
