Seattle Reign FC

The Seattle Reign FC is a women's football franchise from Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 2012 and plays in the National Women's Soccer League, the highest league in women's soccer in the U.S. since 2013.

History

On 24 November 2012, the creation of a new women's football professional league in the U.S. was announced, and that at this a team from Seattle will participate. On December 19, 2012 it was announced that the new franchise from Seattle will be called Seattle Reign FC. The premiere season of NWSL joined Seattle at eight participating franchises in seventh place from and thus failed to reach the championship playoffs. The Reign remained here without a win during the entire first half of the season and even had to take at least one goal in each of the 22 season games.
