Seattle Sounders (1994–2008)

The Seattle Sounders were a football club based in Seattle, Washington. The club was re-founded in 1994 under the same name of the former NASL teams.

The men's team played up to and including the 2008 season in the USL First Division, the second highest league in North American football. The team was replaced from 2009 by its namesake and unofficial successor, the Seattle Sounders FC, ​​who will then participate in the Major League Soccer.

History

Between 1974 and 1983 there were in the North American Soccer League ( NASL ) a team called Seattle Sounders. 1977 and 1982 reached the Sounders the Soccer Bowl ( final ), both times were subject, however, against New York Cosmos.
