Sébastien Epiney

Sébastien Epiney ( born August 29, 1967) is a Swiss ski mountaineer from Nendaz, mountain and marathon runner. He is a member of the Swiss national ski mountaineering.

Career

Epiney began in 2001 with the ski mountaineering and scored in the 2004 World Cup in the vertical race in Val d' Aran for third place and fourth place in the team discipline along with Jean -Yves Rey. As a runner, he won on August 21, 2005 Matterhorn running and in the same year, the Swiss Cup in alpine skiing. At the World Cup in ski mountaineering in 2006, he secured fifth place in the vertical race and was in the same discipline at the 2007 European Championship in fourth. In the Mountain Running World Championships 2007 in Ovronnaz he won bronze in the team standings ( with Andy Sutz, Gex- Fabry Alexis and David Schneider). In 2008 he was Swiss champion and World Championship vertical race in seventh.

As a mountain runner Epiney has already brought several Swiss championship title. At the European Mountain Running Championships 2009 he won the bronze medal.

Epiney is spa director of Haute Nendaz.
