Sečovská Polianka

Sečovská Polianka (Hungarian Szécsmező - to 1902 Szécspolyánka ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia.

The municipality is located on a small right-hand tributary of the Topľa in the broad valley of Topľa and Ondava. West of the church is the mountain range Slanské Hills rises with the Strechový vrch ( 777 meters above sea level). The flat relief to Sečovská Polianka already part of the East Slovak Lowland. The cities Vranov nad Topľou and Sečovce are all within about ten kilometers from the community.

Sečovská Polianka is located on the Highway 79 that nad Topľou to the border crossing Slovenské Nové Mesto / Sátoraljaújhely leads from Vranov and is part of the transit route of south-eastern Poland to Hungary.

The place was first mentioned in 1272.

In the community Sečovská Polianka live almost exclusively Slovaks. 66 % of the population profess the Roman Catholic Church. 32% are Greek Catholic Christians.
