Seega is a municipality in the Thuringian Kyffhaeuser country Kyffhauserkreis.

Geography

The place is nestled between Seega karst stone slopes of Hainleite, a limestone mountain range. Due to the small village flows a tributary of the Unstrut, the Wipper. The so-called Wipperdurchbruchstal, which is designated as a nature reserve since 1961, takes place in the south to Bilzingsleben.

History

In 1278 the village was first mentioned as Syga. Later in 1356 Seega was handed over to the Black Burger Under rule Bad Frankenhausen where it remained until 1918.
