Segurilla

Segurilla is a municipality in the northeast of the province of Toledo in Spain with 1302 inhabitants ( 2013). The inhabitants of Segurilla call themselves Segurillanos or Cagarraches.

Location

With an area of ​​about 23 sq km, it lies at an altitude of 600 m to 670 m in the foothills of the Sierra de San Vicente. MontesClaros bordered to the north and to the south by the university town of Talavera de la Reina and Pepino, east lies Cervera de los Montes and in the immediate vicinity Mejorada in the West. The town is bordered by the river Guadyerbas.

Climate

In Segurilla has a continental climate with extreme temperatures and strong amplitudes. The rains are very infrequent and rare, mostly concentrated in the autumn and spring.

Attractions

La Atalaya de Segurilla, an observation tower with a height of 18 meters, was built in early 10th century during the reign of Abd ar -Rahman III. built. Located on a hill 623 meters above sea level, it offers a sweeping view of the Tagus river, the Montes de Toledo and Talavera de la Reina.
