Talavera de la Reina

Talavera de la Reina is a Spanish city in the province of Toledo to the west of the Autonomous Community of Castile -La Mancha. Situated on the north bank of the Tagus, the city has 88 548 inhabitants (INE, effective 1st January 2013).

History

181 BC was the place where there are many remains of pre-Roman settlement, Quintus Fulvius Flaccus conquered by the Roman Empire. It bore the name Caesarobriga. At the walled city you can see the traces of the Moorish occupation today. In the 11th century Alfonso VI conquered. of Castile and León the city.
