Seiji Ara

Seiji Ara (Japanese荒 圣 治, Seiji Ara, born May 5, 1974 in Chiba Prefecture ) is a Japanese racing driver.

Seiji Ara in Japan since his victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans one of the most famous racers. The long-distance races in France is the land of the rising sun extremely popular and attracts many years manufacturers and drivers from Japan to Europe. Audi decided in 2004 to a Le Mans start to dispense as a work team to allow the customer teams a chance to overall victory. One of these customer teams was the Japanese Team Goh. As a partner of Tom Kristensen and Rinaldo Capello with the Audi R8 Ara celebrated his biggest success in motorsport.

Ara began his career not uncommon in karting, moving mid -1990s in the U.S. to go to the Barber Dodge series, a single-seater junior formula at the start. After his return to Japan and two seasons in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship Ara turned to the sports car scene. Since 2001 he runs regularly in the GT championship in Japan, where they are the top pilots. These sporadic inserts came in the American Le Mans Series. 2007 Ara tried again in Formula Nippon, the best Japanese single-seater series in which some races at the start he was in 2001 and 2002 to gain a foothold.
