Marco Werner

Marco Werner ( * April 27, 1966 in Dortmund ) is a German racing driver.

Marco Werner began his motorsport career in single-seater racing. In 1990 he finished the Formula Opel series as runner-up, 1991, the German Formula 3 He joined the touring car racing and drove in the 1990s in the Super Tourenwagen Cup and the Porsche Supercup.

His greatest successes achieved Werner but in long distance races. In 1995 he won the 24 Hours of Daytona. Since 2001, he runs for the Joest team in the American Le Mans Series. In 2005 he won the 24 - hour race at Le Mans in an Audi R8, 2006 and 2007 he repeated this success in an Audi R10 TDI.

His ties to racing cars shows up occasionally in a representative manner, for example as a pilot of racing taxis on the occasion of the international mountain race Arosa ClassicCar.

Marco Werner lives in Ermatingen on Lake Constance since 2004.
