In the 2007 DTM season 10 races were held in 5 countries. The prelude and finale took place at the Hockenheimring.

1 = For health reasons, was represented Tom Kristensen at Oschersleben by Frank Biela and the Euro Speedway and at Brands Hatch by Markus Winkelhock. 2 = For health reasons Alexandre Prémat was represented for the race at Oschersleben by Marco Werner. 3 = After Adam Carroll was changed in the GP2 series this was replaced from Mugello by Markus Winkelhock.

Season opener at the Hockenheimring
At the start of the season at the Hockenheimring, there was already in the first round to one of the most consequential accidents in DTM history. In the third curve, Tom Kristensen turned after he had ascended to Timo Scheider. Because of this caused heavy smoke and visibility was hampered on the track, so one after Alexandre Prémat and Susie Stoddart drove in Kristensen's car. Stoddart was uninjured, Alexandre Prémat the doctors, however, set a lumbar vertebra and Tom Kristensen suffered a whiplash injury. Both drivers had to pause the second race. Prémat was replaced by Marco Werner, Frank Biela Kristensen through. While Prémat could start again at the third race, Kristensen paused two more races and was replaced by Markus Winkelhock.
Euro Speedway Lausitz
On the Euro Speedway on May 20, 2007, the Safety Car missed the lead car and led several laps the field of participants in a " wrong order " around the course. Barcelona
Before this race Mercedes had with Bruno Spengler only one realistic title contenders, who also had a backlog of ten points on championship leader Mattias Ekström in the Audi and six on his team-mate Martin Tomczyk.
In the race Tomczyk started from the pole, but Spengler from position 3 and Ekström only of course was 10, after just a few laps on rank 5, which would have been enough for the championship. Well it came out on top in a collision between Tomczyk and former Formula 1 World Champion Mika Hakkinen in Mercedes, which meant the end for both drivers.
