In the 2008 DTM season 11 races were held in 6 countries. The prelude and finale took place at the Hockenheimring. Were utilized versions of the Mercedes Benz C -Class and the Audi A4.
Has been speculated about an introduction of the Lexus manufacturer before the season starts. There were photos surfaced on the internet that were very close to a DTM car. Officially it was said that no entry is planned by Lexus.
Overall winner was Timo Scheider in the Audi A4.

The qualifying was interrupted first in Q2 due to heavy rain after an accident by Mike Rockenfeller, then canceled. Q3 has not been started. According to regulations, the hours counted from Q1 for the starting grid.
In the race itself, there was an error, the Audi Channel: Since rain was announced for the race, Audi frosted almost all drivers except Albers, Katherine Legge and Oliver Jarvis with rain tires. However, the predicted rain held off. Timo Scheider, Mattias Ekström and Winkelhock came after the formation lap to the pits, the other driver followed after the first lap of the race. Due to the additional pit stop, which could not be regarded as a mandatory pit stop, the Audi fell back in the field, so Mercedes -Benz at times led the field with seven cars. Because of this wrong decision Audis Bernd Schneider won his first race of the season before the team mate Paul di Resta and Jamie Green. The best Audi driver Timo Scheider was ranked fifth
