Markus Winkelhock
Winkelhock ( born June 13, 1980 in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt ) is a German racing driver. He is the son of 1985 fatally injured racer Manfred Winkelhock and nephew of Joachim and Thomas Winkelhock.
Career
Markus Winkelhock's career began in 1998 in Formula König. After two years in Formula Renault he drove to 2003 Formula 3 In 2004, he was for the team Persson Motorsport in an AMG Mercedes -Benz CLK in the DTM, changed end of the season but then again in the single-seater, this time in the highly motorized version of the World Series formula Renault and was third in the championship.
For 2006, Angle Hock signed a contract as a test driver in Formula 1 team MF1 Racing. A total of four times he was allowed to rise to Friday practice in the Midland - cars and left a respectable impression.
This prompted the Midland follow- Team Spyker to take Winkelhock in 2007 as a test driver contract.
Markus drove in the DTM for the injured Audi driver Tom Kristensen on the Euro Speedway and at Brands Hatch in 2007. From Mugello he replaced Adam Carroll, who moved to the back GP2 Series.
On 22 July 2007, Mr. Hock angle was as a replacement for the sacked at Spyker Albers at the European Grand Prix on the Nürburgring his debut in the Formula 1 World Championship. There he took over after the onset of rain in the second round of the lead, as he was started after the formation lap the only one on rain tires from the pit lane. The next year Winkelhock increased again and was charged with two fourth places and eleven points in tenth in the championship, ahead of Mercedes -Benz new car driver Ralf Schumacher. 2011 no longer runs Winkelhock in the DTM since he did not get a contract more from Audi. Since 2011, Markus Winkelhock drives in the FIA GT1 World Championship for the team Munnich Motorsport Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670 RS -V.
Since June 26, 2012 Winkelhock holds the lap record with 8:09,099 for electrically powered production vehicles at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, situated in an Audi R8 e -tron. Following Winkelhock presented with 16:56,969 the record for two consecutive laps in an electrically driven vehicle, also in an Audi R8 e -tron.
