The Formula 1 2007 season was the 58th FIA Formula 1 World Championship. She was discharged through 17 races in the period from March 18 to October 21. For the first time Kimi Raikkonen World Champion, Ferrari won the Constructors' Championship.

2007 amendments

Racetracks

In addition to several rule changes took place in the 2007 season only 17 instead of the previous 18 Grand Prix races. The European Grand Prix on the Nürburgring and the Grand Prix of Germany at the Hockenheimring will be held in alternate years. 2007 took place in the Grand Prix of Europe, 2008, there will be the Grand Prix of Germany. The Grand Prix of San Marino was removed from the calendar. The Belgian Grand Prix was, however, after a break due to construction work in the 2006 season until May 2007, again instead. Rules

One of the biggest changes to the regulations for the 2007 season was that the Friday sessions were extended from 60 minutes to 90 minutes. In the sessions on Friday, but only two cars may be used, the regular driver have to share with a Friday test driver itself. To this may be used separately engines here too, which are not covered by the 2- race rule.

The FIA ruled that the FIA electronics to be used in every race and in every test. Furthermore, it was determined that for a premature engine change the driver ten places on and at a premature gearbox change five places will be set back. In addition, the Formula 1 teams are allowed only once to change the gear ratio at each race weekend.

Because since the 2007 season until 2010 on the motors nothing can be changed, the two- race rule only applies for Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, any motor may be used. Thus is to be achieved, that is on the Fridays of each Grand Prix more on the race track.

In case of a safety car phase, the racers must not come into the pits until all drivers have caught up with the safety car. Driver

Double world champion Fernando Alonso joined after five years at Renault to McLaren - Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton was second team driver in the team of Ron Dennis. Grand Prix of Australia

The Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne was held on 18 March 2007 and went over a distance of 58 laps of 5.303 kilometers for a total of 307.574 kilometers.

Kimi Raikkonen secured his first Grand Prix in a Ferrari with a time of 1:26,072 minutes the pole position ahead of Fernando Alonso in the McLaren -Mercedes and Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber.
