The Formula 1 1983 season was the 34th FIA Formula 1 World Championship. She was discharged through 15 races in the period of 13 March 1983 to 15 October 1983.
First time in 1983 the European Grand Prix was conducted as an independent event at Brands Hatch. The final Grand Prix of Europe in 1977 yet assigned as an additional FIA honorary title at the Grand Prix of Great Britain.
Nelson Piquet won for the second time, the drivers' world championship, becoming the first pilot with one of a turbocharged engine driven vehicle. Ferrari was the eighth time Constructors' world champions.
