Sendeturm Dobratsch

The radio tower Dobratsch is a 167 meter high tower for FM and hybrid TV on the mountain Dobratsch in Carinthia Austria at an altitude of about 2115 m. The internal name is KLAGENFURT1.

Description

The station was built in 1971 and is distinguished by its somewhat unusual construction, because it consists of a reinforced concrete tower with operating rooms and platforms for directional antennas, on which a guyed to the ground steel tube mast is with the antennas for radio and television.

The transmitter Dobratsch is one of the strongest stations in Austria and provides almost all of Carinthia and parts of Styria, the Canal Valley (Italy ) and large parts of Carniola (Slovenia ) region.

The station is accessible all year round, its own cable car was installed, which runs from Bad Bleiberg directly to the transmitter. However, this is not publicly available.
