Sentosa Express

The Sentosa Express (Chinese圣淘沙 捷运, Pinyin Shengtaosha Jieyun ) is a monorail connecting the island of Sentosa with the District Harbourfront in Singapore.

Route

The construction of the 2.1 km route and the first three stations began in 2003 and was completed in June 2006. Was inaugurated the route on 15 January 2007. The construction costs were approximately S $ 140 million. There is a saddle path from Hitachi. Currently, four stations are on:

The Waterfront station was opened with the opening of " Resorts World Sentosa " on February 1, 2010. It lies on the northern shore of the island of Sentosa and is built on the existing line. Only the interchange station Harbourfront has platform screen doors in full and is air-conditioned.

Operation

Currently there are six railcars, which are all painted in different colors ( violet, blue / turquoise, light green, orange, pink, red ). The vehicles operate in peak hours in 3 -minute intervals, the ride along the entire route takes eight minutes. Operating time is from 7:00 to 24:00 clock. The vehicles are designed for up to 80 km / h, but in normal mode only about 50 km / h Holdings is the system of the Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC ).

Since the Sentosa Express not of Land Transport Authority (LTA ) of Singapore was built, there is no connection to the MRT / LRT traffic network of the city.
