Seppi Hurschler
Josef " Seppi " Hurschler ( born June 23, 1983 in Stans ) is a Swiss nordic combined.
Hurschler made his international debut at the Grand Prix in 2000. Starting in 2001, he started in B- World Cup Nordic Combined. At the Junior World Cup 2002 in Schonach Hurschler reached Gundersen the 8th Place and with the team in the mass start the 10th Place. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, he belonged to the Swiss squad and reached the sprint to 31 place. After the games he started on 1 March 2002 for the first time in the Nordic Combined World Cup, but was able to achieve in the first competitions no World Cup points. At the Junior World Championship 2003 in Sweden Sollefteå he missed with the team and in the sprint, each with fourth place a medal just barely. Shortly thereafter, he started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme, where he reached the 35th place in the sprint. After the World Cup he started further stated in the B World Cup and was only irregularly employed in the World Cup, but where he continued was unsuccessful. At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, he raced in the individual competitions and reached the sprint and 24th in the 22 Gundersen place. In the first World Cup after the Games in Lahti he could win first World Cup points. In December 2007, he started once again in B- World Cup before Hurschler was placed permanently into the World Cup squad. In the 2007 /08 season he was able to place at No. 28 overall in the Sprint Cup. Even in the World Cup, he was able to increase its performance. The 2009/10 season he finished as his most successful on the 27th place in the overall World Cup standings. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver Hurschler was no more than 29th place in the individual on the normal hill and a 31 place in the individual large hill of the addition. In team competition, he reached the 9th place together with Tim Hug, Tommy Schmid and Ronny Heer.
Seppi Hurschler is the brother of the Nordic combiner Andreas Hurschler.
