Andreas Hurschler
Andreas Hurschler ( born September 14, 1977 in Stans ) is a former Swiss Nordic combined.
Hurschler made his debut in the World Cup Nordic Combined in the season 1994 / 95th He reached the 50th place in the World Cup overall, first five World Cup points at the end. Then it was quiet around Hurschler. Only at the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein, he started again internationally. He reached the 40th place in the Gundersen. After the World Cup he started in B- World Cup. From February 2000, he started again in the World Cup. He was able to regularly reach the points again right away. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti he came in Gundersen on 33rd and with the team on the 10th Place. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2001 in St. Moritz Hurschler won in the individual behind Andy Hartmann and Ronny Heer the bronze medal. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City he reached after a further season in B- World Cup together with Jan Schmid, Ivan Rieder and Ronny Heer in the team competition the 7th Place. In the sprint Hurschler came on the 21th and on the 25th place in the individual. On 31 March 2002, he won at the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2002 in Les Tuffes again bronze in singles. A year later he was able to increase its performance and peaked at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme with the team to eighth place. In the sprint Hurschler came on the 15th and Gundersen to 17th place. In the 2003 /04 season he succeeded in Sprint Cup with a 17th place in the overall ranking, the best result of his career. Two years later he achieved in the 2005/06 season with a 16th place his highest placing in the World Cup. At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, he narrowly missed out on a medal with the team in the team competition with fourth place. In the sprint Hurschler reached 21 and Gundersen in the 23th Place. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2006 in Einsiedeln he won the gold medal in singles. 2007 ended Hurschler his active career.
Andreas Hurschler is the brother of Seppi Hurschler.
