Ivan Rieder

Ivan Rieder ( born December 3, 1976 in Thun) is a former Swiss Nordic combined.

His international debut Rieder in December 1998 in the B- Nordic Combined World Cup. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1999 in Ramsau he reached the 9th place with the team. On January 3, 2000, he made his debut in Upper Wiesenthal in the Nordic Combined World Cup. A year later he succeeded in Reit im Winkl first time the profit of World Cup points. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti, Finland he had to content themselves in the individual disciplines with posterior placements, the team he reached the 10th place. At the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City he managed together with Andreas Hurschler Jan Schmid and Ronny Heer in the team competition, the seventh place. In individual he reached No. 42 In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2003 in Kandersteg, he won before Ronny Heer and Guido Landertshammer the champion in singles. He repeated in 2004 and 2005 this successful. During the World Cup he finished the 2003/04 season as the most successful of his career at the 26th place in the overall World Cup standings. A year later, Rieder reached the highest ranking overall in the Sprint Cup with number 22. At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, he narrowly missed out on a medal in the team competition with the team and finished fourth. In individual competition Rieder landed on the 27th and in the sprint on the 36th. In the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined, 2006 in Einsiedeln he won again the silver medal in singles. After the 2006/ 07 season, he ended his international career.
