Serbia women's national volleyball team

The Serbian national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best Serbian players who represents the Serbian Volleyball Federation ( Odbojkaški Savez Srbije ) in international tournaments and international matches. By the year 2003, the Yugoslav team went to International from 2003 to 2006, they played the national team of Serbia and Montenegro.

History

World Championships

In 1978, Yugoslavia in a single Volleyball World Cup finals and was ranked 16th successor of Serbia and Montenegro managed at the 2006 World Cup with the third rank the best result. Serbia took place at the 2010 World Cup night.

Olympic games

2008 Beijing Serbia first participated at the Olympic tournament and was named after a defeat in the quarter-final against Cuba fifth.

European Championships

The first participation in a European Volleyball Championship in 1951, Yugoslavia was third. 1955 lacked the Yugoslav women, 1958 and 1963, they occupied positions seven and eight. After another break there was in 1971 with rank 14, the worst result so far. 1975 did not come Yugoslavia as a host on the eighth addition. In the following three tournaments, the Yugoslavs deteriorated each one place. Then they missed three tournaments. At the European Championships in Germany in 1989 they went back to eighth place in 1991, they were ninth. The same result, there were 2003 for Serbia and Montenegro. There was a seventh place. At Euro 2007 Serbia lost to Italy only in the finale. In 2011 she won the European Championship with a 3-2 in the final against Germany.

World Cup

Serbia finished the World Cup 2007 fifth.

World Grand Prix

Serbia took part for the first time and finished the World Grand Prix 2011 in third.
