Serhiy Honchar

Serhiy Hont flock (Ukrainian Сергій Гончар, scientific transliteration Serhiy Hončar, English transcription Serhiy Honchar; born July 3, 1970 in Rivne ) is a former Ukrainian cyclist.

Serhiy Hont band was known as a prime -time driver and had also at Mount strengths. In 1996 he started as a professional at ideal. He joined the team almost every year. So he drove at for Cantina Tollo, Vini Caldirola and Fassa Bortolo. In 2005 he drove in the UCI Pro Tour for Domina Vacanze, before he moved to the German T -Mobile team in 2006.

Among his major achievements include the victory in the streets - Cycling World Championships 2000 at the ITT, the second place in the overall classification of the Giro d' Italia in 2004 and the repeated Ukrainian championship in the road race and time trial. At the Giro d' Italia 2006, he was allowed to go from T -Mobile on their own account and conquered after the fifth stage of the Maglia Rosa of the overall leader, he wore two days.

His multiple appearances at the Tour de France were crowned in 2006 with two hits. In 2006, he was supposed to be one of the important helper for Jan Ullrich in the battle for the second victory in the Tour de France; after the suspension Ullrich he was one of the captains of the T- Mobile team. With a clear victory in the first time trial he won the yellow jersey at the same time. In the Pyrenees and the Alps, although he could not defend the jersey, but with the victory in the second time trial on the penultimate day of the Tour, he underlined its outstanding position as a time trial specialist.

Free of doping suspicions Hont crowd is not. He was excluded from the Tour de Suisse in 1999, because his hematocrit was over 50, 2001, he came again during the Giro d' Italia in suspicion was allowed to continue the tour though, but was then suspended by his team Liquigas. Be demonstrated in practical terms, however, never could give him the use of unlawful means. On 11 May 2007 he was suspended by unannounced blood tests during the Tour de Romandie for 30 days. In June 2007, he was dismissed because of " violations of the team 's internal code of conduct " with immediate effect. He ended his career in early 2010 after he had no new team found.
