Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme
The Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme (Spanish: Semana Catalana, German: Catalan week) was a Catalan cycling race.
The stage race has been held annually 1963-2005, with the exception of 1980. The first five sweeps from 1963 to 1967 found this place under the name of Challenge drink. At the time of introduction of the UCI Europe Tour in 2005, the race was part of this series and classified in the highest category 2.HC. For 2006, a discharge was planned, but was canceled because the budget could not be covered. In the following years, no hosting of the tour took place.
Five drivers were able to Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme twice decide for themselves: Michael Boogerd, Laurent Jalabert, Alex Zülle, Eddy Merckx and Luis Ocaña Pernia. José Pérez- Francés won two times during the tour under the name of Challenge drink.
