Seven Card Stud

Seven Card Stud is a variation of the card game Poker. Seven Card Stud is next to Texas Hold'em and Omaha Hold'em, the most commonly offered in casinos type of poker game and is widely played in poker tournaments, such as those undertaken annually organized by the Casinos Austria Poker Championship at Casino Baden near Vienna.

Seven Card Stud is a descendant of the elder Five Card Stud and has this almost completely displaced.

The game

The rules

The following description follows the regulations of Casinos Austria.

General

Seven Card Stud is played with a pack of French playing cards to 52 cards from two to nine people.

The aim is to obtain, or the other players to move through clever play on the task the highest possible poker combination.

Each player receives up to seven cards.

Split limit

Seven Card Stud is rarely No limit, but mostly played with split limit. The usual graduation 5/10/20 means: The Ante is € 5, € 10 and the lower limit, the higher limit € 20.

First round of betting

Before the start of a game each player pays an ante, called Ante, into the pot, then each player is dealt by the croupier ( dealer ) two cards face down (hole cards) and one card face up ( Door).

Number of raises per betting round

Second round of betting

The opener can now either

Third and fourth betting round

Discarded cards, ie cards of players who folded, will no longer be used.

The purpose of these regulations is that the top and especially the bottom card to be recognized as a result of a negligent attitude of the dealer's hand by a player and this could draw an advantage.

Common Card

Take eight or nine players participate in a game, so it may happen that in the last round not enough cards in the deck ( deck) are present, as that every player could be operated as usual. In this case, the dealer places a single card face up in the middle of the table. Table Stakes

To participate in a game, each player must place it on the table in front of him before his first match by a certain amount ( buy-in ).

Variations
