Severo Lombardoni (actually Severino Lombardoni, born March 7, 1949 in Pedrengo in Bergamo, † February 13, 2012 in Milan ) was an independent music producer in Italy. He was the founder and owner of Disco Magic Srl and is considered one of the founders of Italo - disco and Italo Dance.

Life

Lombardoni was the eldest child of Francesco and Francesca Lombardoni, born Nava. He had three younger siblings; his sisters Anna and Ornella and the brother Vittorio are also active in the music business. Severo attended from 1960 to 1963, the Technical High School in Seriate and graduated from the Conservatorio " Giuseppe Verdi" di Milano in 1969.

In his youth Lombardoni participated in local bike races. He mastered several instruments; during his time at the Conservatory and in subsequent years he played in several bands trombone, piano, harmonica and guitar. For one year he taught music at an elementary school.

In 1974 Lombardoni opened a record shop in Seriate. Later he moved to Milan, where he founded in 1977 a record - wholesale.

Disco Magic and Lombardoni Edizioni Musicali

Opened in 1981 Lombardoni the record companies Disco Magic and the music publishing Lombardoni Edizioni Musicali. Disco Magic developed quickly and was from the mid to late 1980s the biggest Italo - disco music producer in the country. In addition to the main label "Disco Magic" the company had many sub-labels, where such titles were produced, their chances of success appeared unsure or the other music genres belonged. Disco Magic also drove the country, Europe and the world title from catalogs of labels such as " Time Records ", " PSA ", " RARE " or " RCD ".

With Disco Magic sat Lombardoni many standards of his time. The Via Mecenate in Milan, where his company had its headquarters, has developed into a center of music merchants - and producers. Lombardoni the first music producer in Italy of television advertising for its products was switched. The mass production of compilations in the late 1980s found many imitators.

Even with the company Lombardoni Publishing Srl Lombardoni appeared as a music publisher. Composers with whom Lombardoni worked, were among other Pierluigi Giombini, Paolo Pelandri, Domenico Ri'cchini, Manuel and Luis Garcia Perez curry. The greatest successes were productions such as " Do not cry tonight" Savage, "Shanghai ", " Sayonara ", " Do not Stop The Music" by Lee Marrow, " Happy children " by P. Lion and " Dolce vita " of Ryan Paris, all of which appeared in 1983. In 1989 he moved " Ride on Time" by Black Box. The song from the album " Dreamland " was despite copyright disputes one of the biggest successes of the time in Europe. In 1988 Lombardoni founded in Germany the Lombardoni Music GmbH, which in 1990 reached tenth place among the most successful music publishers in Germany.

Financial problems led in 1997 to the cessation of business. The main label "Disco Magic" with his catalog had to sell Lombardoni at the German music producer Bernhard Mikulski ( ZYX Music). Some of the smaller sub-label Saifam took over. The sub-label Dance World Attack became independent.
