Shai Wosner

Shai Wosner (born 1976 ) is an Israeli pianist.

Life

Wosner had piano lessons with Emanuel Krasovsky in Tel -Aviv as well as instruction in composition, theory, and improvisation with André Hajdu. At the age of 21, he studied with Emanuel Ax at the Juilliard School of Music in New York, where he lives today. With his repertoire of Ludwig van Beethoven and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Arnold Schoenberg, and György Ligeti to contemporary composers, he has gained international recognition.

Concert career

Shai Wosner occurred among others, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in North America and Europe with the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Gothenburg Symphony, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Belgian National Orchestra and the Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam. In 2006 he gave during the Jubilee celebrations of Mozart's 250th birthday in Salzburg his debut with the Vienna Philharmonic. He has worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta and Leonard Slatkin. As a chamber musician has performed Shai Wosner with Pinchas Zukerman, Lynn Harrell, Christian Tetzlaff and Veronika Eberle.
