Shaun Bownes

Shaun Bownes ( Shaun Patrick Bownes, born October 24, 1970 in Johannesburg ) is a former South African hurdler, who specializes in the 110-meter distance.

In 1998 he won at the IAAF Championships in Africa Dakar and won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. At the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville he reached the quarterfinals at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney the semifinals.

In 2001 he took over the 60m hurdles bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in Lisbon, was eighth at the World Championships in Edmonton.

2002 was his most successful year with victories at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and at the African Championships in Radès. The following year he was. At the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham Roller and arrived at the World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis semi-finals

In 2004 he won silver at the African Championships in Brazzaville and retired at the Olympic Games in Athens in the quarterfinals. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, he was sixth.
