Shavo Odadjian

Shavarsh " Shavo " Odadjian (Armenian Շավո Օդաջյան; born April 22, 1974 in Yerevan, Armenia) is an American bass player of Armenian origin of the heavy metal band System of a Down.

Career

In his youth Odadjian spent much time with skateboarding and heard Punk Rock and Heavy Metal. His favorite bands are Slayer, The Punk Angle, Dead Kennedys, KISS and Black Sabbath.

He moved into the age of five from Armenia to Los Angeles, where he went on the Alex Pilibos High School, an Armenian parochial school. There he met for the first time together with his future bandmates Daron Malakian and Serj Tankian, but he knew her at that time because of the age difference in detail.

After she met in a recording studio in 1993, Odadjian was to be the manager of the band Soil, which consisted of the singer Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian and guitarist originally. But when he decided in 1995 to playing bass, he became the bassist of the band System of a Down.

Since then, System of a Down has announced a hiatus in 2006, Odadjian is working on " Achozen ", a project with the Wu -Tang Clan rapper Robert Diggs. In addition to guest appearances on Wu- Tang Clan album 8 Diagrams Odadjian was also involved in the Wu -Tang Clan Tour Rock the Bells 2007. He worked on the soundtrack for the American film Babylon AD, which was published in August 2008.

Film career

Odadjian was seen in 1993 in the music video Big Gun by AC / DC. In 2001, he appeared in a brief supporting role in the film Zoolander. He directed the system -of-a -down - to videos Aerials, BYOB, Toxicity, Question! and Hypnotize, the video for the song Taproot Mine and the Bad Brains song Give Thanks and Praises.
