Shepperd Strudwick

Shepperd Strudwick ( born September 22, 1907 in Hillsboro, North Carolina, † January 15, 1983 in New York City, New York ) was an American actor.

Strudwick got his first film role in 1938 for a short film about Ignaz Semmelweis by Fred Zinnemann. He played his most famous role in 1949 in Robert Rossens Oscar Award-winning film adaptation The man who wanted to rule as Dr. Adam Stanton, who shoots the protagonist Willie Stark ( Broderick Crawford ) at the end of the film. In the 1950s he worked primarily as a TV actor. Shepperd Strudwick died at the age of 75 years to cancer.
