Sho Kashima

Sho Kashima ( born November 1, 1986 in El Paso, Texas) is an American freestyle skier. He specializes in the moguls and dual moguls mogul disciplines.

Biography

Kashima moved at the age of four years with his family from Texas to Lake Tahoe and learned in the Heavenly Mountain Resort to ski, where he soon turned to the freestyle skiing. From December 2004 he participated in the Nor- Am Cup, the North American Continental Championship, and was able to three months later claim his first podium. In March 2006 he won the U.S. title in the discipline Dual Moguls, which led to the inclusion in the national team. His debut in the Freestyle World Cup had Kashima on January 6, 2007 at Mont Gabriel, where he jumped to 12th place and immediately won the first World Cup points.

After four top - 10 finishes in the World Cup season 2008/ 09 Kashima won his second title in March 2009. Due to a torn ACL he had the 2009/10 season prematurely and thereby missed the Olympic Winter Games 2010. During the winter 2010/11 Kashima was reconnected with the world's best. On December 10, 2011 with his 2nd place in the moguls competition in Ruka Finland succeeded in the first World Cup podium, followed by a 3rd place in the French Méribel ten days later.
