Show Boat

Show Boat is an American musical in two acts from the year 1927. The music is by Jerome David Kern, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein. The book is on the novel by Edna Ferber basis from 1926. The musical was first performed on December 27, 1927 at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. The German -language premiere in an arrangement by Janne Furch found in 1970 in the Municipal Theater Freiburg instead. More German -language versions, which are based closely on the original, submitted by Marcel Prawy (debut on 1 March 1971 in Vienna Volksoper ) and Frank Thannhäuser.
