Howard Keel

Howard Keel ( born April 13, 1919 in Gillespie, Illinois as Harold Clifford Keel, † November 7, 2004 in Palm Desert, California ) was an American actor and musical performer.

Life and career

The German-speaking public, he was known especially in the 80s by the television series "Dallas". He played the role of Clayton Farlow later husband of Ellie Ewing.

Previously Keel stepped in the United States as a musical star. He sang in movie musicals such as "Kiss Me Kate " and " Annie Get Your Gun ," the baritone voice. He was well-known U.S. actresses and singers as his film partners like Betty Hutton, Esther Williams, Kathryn Grayson, Jane Powell and Doris Day. For his contributions to the American musical, he was honored in 2000 with the highest price of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival ( Lifetime Achievement Award For Musical Cinema Achievements ).

Keel also appeared in Western films: " Waco " and "Red Tomahawk ". In the movie " The War Wagon" he had a role opposite John Wayne.

Howard Keel died at the age of 85 years to cancer.
